An Industrial town by nature supplying much of Victoria’s power, Traralgon has retained its rural attraction and visitors are drawn to its parks and nearby bush-walking trails. Local river ways and Lakes provide excellent fishing, while on the coast, the Marine Parks and Wilson’s Promontory National Park are within comfortable driving distance. Winter brings the Skiing enthusiasts to the neighboring Snowfields of Mt Baw Baw. Plus it has everything you would expect in a much larger town including Shopping centers, Pubs, nearby Cinema, Restaurants and much more.

Traralgon is a thriving Commercial and Administrative center in Victoria’s energy heartland. The town has grown to service the surrounding Energy, Agricultural, Pastoral, Papermaking and Timber Industries. Traralgon has a lot of history, and remnants of the gold years are reflected in the Architecture of the Town – see the Traralgon Post Office, Ryans Hotel and the Ostler House.

Traralgon is also the Latrobe Valley’s Entertainment Capital. It has a lot of Dining and Shopping Venues, excellent Pubs and Clubs and sidewalk Cafes. The Latrobe Performing Arts Center has Musicals and Comedy Act Shows.

A favorite destination for picnickers is Victory Park with its marble sculpture Lars Compatalis, historic band rotunda and beautiful gardens. A stroll over the creek along the footbridge leads to Newman Park featuring a huge adventure playground including miniature train rides operating on the fourth Sunday of every month. The Zanella Estate Winery, Traralgon Golf Club, Skydiving and Gliding or Scenic Flights over the Gippsland Region are a few of the attractions of Traralgon.
